Host: Mathieu Chantelois

Mathieu Chantelois has a Masters Degree in Journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa and is currently completing his PhD, probing the roots of circuit parties and tackling the evolution of gay body culture. Mathieu was a cast member on the longest reality TV show in history, U8TV: The Lofters, which was broadcasted online and coast to coast on Canada's Life Network. He was the first openly gay show participant on Canadian television. He also created, hosted and co-produced the Gemini Award nominated show SoGayTV. He is the editor-in-chief of Famous Québec, the most popular French language movie magazine in Canada. He’s also the host of the 4 seasons of the TV show COVERguy
He now lives in a Toronto condo – not a loft, never call it a loft – with his partner of 10 years, Marcelo. The two got married in July of 2003.  Mathieu is the Chair of the Board of Directors of The 519 Church Street Community Centre in Toronto. He’s also on the Board of Administration and the spokesperson for Montreal Divers/Cité.

When stepping out from behind the mixing board and taking to the stage, A Jr. finds himself in his element in front of his audiences including Pride Festivals and club performances. From being an Xtra West cover story to opening up for Crystal Waters and Deborah Cox, Armstrong Jr. continues to deliver on stage and in the studio for his fans. Jaylene

Empress XXXV of Vancouver and Heir Apparent to the titular head of the International Court System, Jaylene is one Vancouver's most celebrated goodwill ambassadors. Her main focus is to help Vancouver's LGBT community remain strong and safe. Professionally, Jaylene is a make-up artist extraordinaire for the Paris line Make Up For Ever in the Bay downtown. In her down time... Jaylene has fun being a Vancouver entertainer and Drag Super Model!! Her face has been seen on billboards, magazine covers and on the side of a bus as the face for Celebrities NightClub. Jaylene has one thing to say to the contestants... Jerome Mandrake

Vancouver's own singer/songwriter Jerome Mandrake joins Vancouver's Next Gay Top Model competition again this year as a guest performer and writer of the official music theme "Gonna be the Next Top Model."   Jerome's passion for music began at age seventeen performing acoustically around town and abroad.  With the release of two albums, and collaborations with some of  Vancouver's production and performing talent, Jerome has played a variety of venues, including opening up for Deborah Cox 2008 tour.  Jerome continues to challenge himself as a performer and producer, and looks forward to taking the stage once again at this years event. myspace
 

mARTE

Sexo-techno is what mARTE calls his style of music. Born in San Juan De Los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico, he arrived in Canada in 2001. Music in his life began at age 16 when he first wrote a song. Studies included the Conservatory of Music of San Luis Potosi and Televisa, the Conceptos School for singers on television. As the lead singer of the band ETERNIA he recorded a CD and did a Tour of Mexico. Coro de Las Estrellas, Teleton 1996, Estadio Azteca, where 50,000 people applauded him at Ritmo de la Noche, performances at the Vancouver Pride events and Homopalloza, radio and television interviews from Mexico to Los Angeles and British Columbia are some of the places where he has been seen and heard. mARTE loves life and the pleasures it gives. He currently performs regularly at various venues around Vancouver and you can find him on youtube.
 

Peter Breeze

Peter Breeze is Vancouver's latest rising star. After a slew of independent films he began building a reputation at clubs around the city as an M.C and Club Personality. Peter Breeze is now making an impact as a recording artist. His first music video for his single “BOY!” as well as his EP were recently released and after a year of shows, appearances and promotion Peter Breeze is excited to release his first full length album and to hit the road for his first ever tour in 2009 myspace
 

Queen of Samba

Samba is the tradition Brazilian dance. Lucia Azevedo, the Queen of Samba, is one of Vancouver's hardest working dancers. From anual visits to Rio de Janeiro and the biggest Carnaval in the world to local festivals and special presentations, she works on divulging this world heritage dance to as many as she can. All costumes are designed and made by Lucia herself.
