AQT Vancouver 2002-2006

AQT Writing Contest

Amidst developing works with various Vancouver artists, AQT Vancouver sponsored and international writing contest for 3 years. The winners:
2006: Dreams by Rafael Dimaggio (Toronto, Canada)
One day - one night - one hour - one minute... Three friends learn the truth behind love, friendship and the sado-masochistic world of a futuristic Toronto City Hall.
2005: Gay! by Paulo Banderas (Toledo, Spain)
In the middle of the psalm, the 15 year old singer decided to tell the whole congregation he was gay. Church goers begin to learn more then they hoped for during Sunday mass.
2004:  My Child by Ruth Fergie (Johannesburg, South Africa)
My Child is a collection of 14 short stories. A mother’s struggle. A small town eager to stone the unknown. A teenage boy who dreams of a better world. These three major characters create the scenario for the play; a child’s dream complete with the brutal reality of the streets juxtaposed with a fantasy world where mom is Mary Poppins. The journey is beyond belief. The stories are based on real life. The play was turned into a film.
